A very short bio

My name is Lucas Hideki. I'm 29 years old and I live in São Paulo, Brazil.

I went through Kumon — an after-school math program built on daily drills — which made me fast at mental arithmetic and comfortable grinding through long calculations.

In school I played trombone for six years, started learning math more seriously, and got a brief taste of teaching.

I then did a prep course aiming at ITA, Brazil's most selective engineering school, and realized along the way that engineering wasn't my path. I found my place in mathematics — pure math in particular.

I studied for a while in a pure mathematics program. I didn't finish the degree, but I learned a lot along the way — including these courses and certificates. Below, a few things outside code that I keep coming back to: shows, films, music, books and YouTube channels.
