A very short bio

My name is Lucas Hideki. I'm 29 years old and I live in São Paulo, Brazil.

I went through Kumon — an after-school math program built on daily drills — which made me fast at mental arithmetic and comfortable grinding through long calculations.

In school I played trombone for six years, started learning math more seriously, and got a brief taste of teaching.

I went through a prep course aiming at ITA, Brazil's most selective engineering school, and realized along the way that engineering wasn't my path. I found my place in mathematics — pure math in particular.

I spent a few years in a pure mathematics program without taking the degree to the end, and picked up plenty along the way — here are some of the certificates.
